The initial question

The initial question

I love problem-solving, innovative technology, and stunning art. There was never a doubt in my mind that I’d work in the tech industry, exploring new ways to improve the day-to-day, as it has done for me. So how could I combine them all?

I embarked on my journey with coding, understanding the fundamentals: HTML, CSS, JS, and Java, during which I developed a few games with my buddies (it was super fun). Still, I wanted to pursue my love for visual storytelling. Then when my 11th-grade media arts teacher encouraged me to create a online study-buddy app in Adobe XD. It all clicked.

Growing as a designer

Three years later, I’ve had the honour of working with Sociavore, Sonova, and SnapPea, who all have allowed me to help others across several industries ranging from restaurants to electricians.

With my relentless curiosity, systems design thinking and intuition for aesthetics, I helped businesses and users reach their goals quickly and effectively. I rapidly translate abstract ideas into concrete prototypes with a product vision, scalable design systems, and data-informed interactions.

Recently, I have been looking at game, AI, and XR design as its versatility grows by the day. From immersive games to lifesaving simulations, I’d be interested in adding these mediums to my toolbox.

This click led me to get an Honours Bachelor of Global Business and Digital Arts at the University of Waterloo, a degree focused on real, hands-on problem solving and an opportunity to exchange in Singapore!

Over those four years, I learned human-centred design and its complex combination of business, people, art, and engineering. I fell in love with the journey of mashing together this multidisciplinary skillset to solve problems with stories and data. Also just got to make a lot of cool stuff!

Outside of work, I love learning new skills. I'm not sure why I like learning so much. It's probably because it helps demystify my curiosities and allows me to add a twist to birthday gifts.

I’m building an art-tech installation with my friends at PRISM, which requires me to learn a lot about hardware and software engineering. Please ask me about it!
